Ministry of National Food Security & Research
The Ministry of National Food Security and Research is a government agency in Pakistan responsible for ensuring food security and promoting agricultural development. The ministry’s mandate includes developing policies and programs to promote food production, agricultural research and development, land use planning and sustainable agriculture practices.
The Ministry of National Food Security and Research oversees several departments, including the Department of Plant Protection. Department of Agriculture, Department of Livestock and Dairy Development and Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture.
The Ministry also collaborates with various national and international organizations to improve food security and agricultural development of Pakistan. Some of the Ministry’s key partners include the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
